Maps in Locations

Gain more situational awareness of locations with user-friendly, interactive maps in OpenEye Web Services. In Maps in Locations, edit the Location Address for the Global Map and create floorplans. Device icons added to a floorplan will alert users to events at that location when viewed in Maps in the Cloud Web Client.

NOTE: Cloud-based Maps is only available with certain licensing tiers. See OWS Licensing for more information.

Configuring Cloud-based Maps

Go to Management > Locations > Maps to add and edit Maps and Floor Plans.

Edit Location Address

Editing the Location Address will change the address of the Global Map viewed in the Maps list in the Cloud Web Client.

  1. Click Edit to update Location Address information.

NOTE: Updating the address will also update the location's address in General Information settings.

  1. Click Save.

Floor Plan

By default, Floor Plan displays Primary, Map Image, and Map Name.

NOTE: You can customize the Floor Plan table. See Table Functionality for more information.

Primary Select Primary on the Floor Plan you want to be the primary floor plan
Map Image Displays a thumbnail view of the Floor Plan map
Map Name Displays the Floor Plan Name
Edit Edit the Floor Plan
Rename Rename the Floor Plan
Add Floor Plan
  1. Click + Floor Plan Floor Plan Button.png to add a new Floor Plan.

  1. Drag and Drop a file or Browse to add a map image from a local machine.

NOTE: Map image must be in one of these formats: .bmp, .png, .jpg, and .jpeg.

NOTE: Maximum file size for the map image is 50 MB.

  1. Click Add.

  1. Click Edit to add device icons or remove device icons from a Floor Plan.

  1. Click filter Filter Button.png to display or hide available device types in the list or enter a device name into Search Search Bar.png.

  1. Drag and drop a device from the list onto the map image. 
  2. Click Save.

Camera Icons

Click on a camera icon to display field of view on the image map.

Show Field of View Select to show camera's field of view on image map
Lens Type Select Fixed, 180°, or 360°
Field of View Slide to set Field of View

Sensor Icons

Click on a sensor icon to display sensor type on the image map.

Generic Sensor Default sensor icon
Environmental Sensor Icon displays location of a Environmental Sensor
Gunshot Sensor Icon displays location of a Gunshot Sensor
Button Sensor Icon displays location of a Button Sensor
Door Sensor Icon displays location of a Door Sensor
