Creating a USB Recovery Drive

Check Version and Download File
  1. Reference How Do I Check My OS Version to identify which image your device needs.
  2. Download one of the image files below by clicking on the link:
Images
Linux Images
Windows Images
Download and Run Rufus
  1. Plug your USB into your PC.

NOTE: A Windows Recovery requires a 32GB or larger USB drive.

NOTE: A Linux Recovery requires a 4GB or larger USB drive.

  1. Download the Standard Windows x64 version of the Rufus application.
  2. Run the Rufus executable.
  3. Click Yes if prompted by Windows UAC.
  4. Click the SELECT button to browse to the image ISO.
  5. Leave all settings at default.

NOTE: Device label will vary from above images based on ISO versions.

  1. You will be prompted with a warning that all data on the USB drive will be destroyed. Click OK to proceed in creating the recovery media.
  2. Once complete, close Rufus, eject the USB, and remove it from the PC.
