What Does Remaining Disk Space Mean?

Within the storage tab, you will see that your hard drive(s) are reading a certain percentage of disk space remaining. This does not reflect the amount of storage space you have left available, instead this is the allotted amount of space the recorder has left aside for recording and processing purposes.

Should I Adjust the Amount of Reserved Space?

5% reserved space is perfectly fine for any volume over 2 terabytes (TB). The volume requires enough storage space for the cache. Because of this we have enabled the ability to reduce the free space down to 5%.

Note: Older systems will show 10% reserved and newer systems will show 5% reserved. This is the new default value.
