How to Determine Connection Method Using Command Station

Command Station Desktop Client is OpenEye’s video management software. It is designed for multi-site monitoring. It can be necessary to determine how the software is connected to the recorders to assist with monitoring, troubleshooting, and auditing. There are three connection types: LAN Smart Forwarding, Direct (Peer to Peer), and through the OWS servers (Relay). See How to Optimize Your OWS Connection Method on connection types.

  1. Within Command Station, to determine which method is being used, right-click on the recorder name and select device info.
