Adobe Flash vs HTML5 Client Use

With the introduction of Apex 2.0, OpenEye switched from using Adobe Flash to using HTML5 for displaying video. Adobe Flash required the use of additional software/browser plugins, whereas HTML5 does not, making it a more ideal solution.

Additionally, as of January 1st, 2022, support for Adobe Flash officially ended.

Why am I being asked to download Adobe Flash?

If a recorder is requesting to update Adobe Flash, it means the recorder is on an outdated version of software that still uses it. To resolve this, update the recorder software to the latest version.

What is HTML5?

HTML5 is the latest iteration of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), the standard programming language for describing the contents and appearance of Web pages.
