How to View and Access your OpenEye Encoder

Our encoders may require the use of ActiveX controls and/or add-on’s in the web browser. For this reason, we recommend using Internet Explorer if you encounter any issues loading them using other browsers. 

  1. Open internet explorer 
  2. Browse to the ip address of the encoder 
  3. Login with the encoder’s username and password
    • The default username is admin
    • The default password is 1234

How to configure ActiveX controls in internet explorer 
  1. Launch internet explorer and click on the gear icon (Tools) in the upper right corner 
  2. Click Internet Options 
  3. Click on the Security Tab and click the Custom level button 
  4. Scroll through the list of settings and set all options with ActiveX in the name to enable 
  5. Click OK to save, Click OK again on the internet options window 
  6. Close internet explorer and open it back up 
How to clear Add-ons in internet explorer 
  1. Launch internet explorer and make sure you are not on the web page that requires the Add-on 
  2. Click on the gear icon (Tools) in the upper right corner 
  3. Click Manage add-ons 
  4. Click the “Show:” drop down menu on the left and set to all add-ons 

 

  1. Remove any add-ons that show publisher as DVR Support Center or OpenEye
    • To remove the add-on, double click on it in the list and then click the remove button in the lower left 

 

  1. Close internet explorer, open it back up and browse to the encoder. It should prompt you to install the required add-ons. If prompted to overwrite a newer file, click yes. You should now be able to view and access the encoder
