How to Request a License Transfer Between Non-subscription Managed Recorders

These instructions only apply for recorders that are not part of a subscription managed account in OWS.

NOTE: Please schedule requests in advance, especially for critical or time-sensitive changes. Depending on the details, a license transfer request may take 24-48 hours to process.

Licenses can be transferred between recorders when either of the following apply:

  • Both recorders have the same type of licensing.
    • You can verify licensing type by viewing the Inventory Report in OWS: Reports > Inventory Report > Licensing Column.
  • You are requesting ALL licenses be swapped between two recorders.

To submit a license transfer request please send an email licensetransfer@openeye.net with:

  • The number of licenses to transfer
  • The serial number of the Original (From) recorder
  • The Serial number of the New (To) recorder

Feel free to copy and paste the following text into the email:

Hello Openeye,

Please transfer (X) licenses from recorder (From recorder serial number) to recorder (To recorder Serial number).
