Device Health Events and Health Statuses

This page explains common device health events and the health status associated with each event. Some events may escalate to a higher health status if the condition continues or occurs repeatedly.
Health Statuses

Health statuses are intended to help prioritize investigation:

Health Status Meaning
Notice Informational or early warning condition. Review when convenient or as part of normal maintenance.
Urgent Needs attention. The condition may affect system reliability, recording, or device operation.
Critical Immediate attention recommended. The condition may significantly affect recording, monitoring, or device availability.

Escalation Notes

Some events have both an initial health status and an escalated health status. Escalation generally means the condition has continued long enough, or occurred often enough, that it should be treated with higher priority.

Events that may escalate:

Event Initial Status Escalated Status
Video Loss Urgent Critical
Abnormal Restart Urgent Critical
SMART Drive Failure Notice Urgent
RAID Error Urgent Critical
