Enabling Two-Way Audio, Line Crossing, and Area Detection on Hanwha Intercoms

To enable Two-Way Audio, Line Crossing and Area Detection on the Hanwha intercom, you must access the Hanwha intercom either directly through the intercom IP address or through your recorder and intercom setup.

NOTE: These instructions are for the TID-600R Intercom.

NOTE: These instructions are provided as a courtesy but refer to the user interface on a third-party product and may not be up to date.

How to Access the Intercom on the Recorder

The intercom will be recognized as a camera and appear in the camera list on the recorder.

  2. Under General Configuration, navigate to the Cameras menu.
  3. Select a camera by clicking on it.
  4. Click the Image Settings tab.
  5. Click Connect Directly to Camera.

Enable Two-Way Audio

Audio must be enabled on both the intercom and recorder devices.

  1. Click  Hanwha Gear Icon.png and go to Basic > Video Profile and check to Enable for Audio In.

  1. Click Setup Options Gear.png > General Configuration > Cameras and click on the Hanwha Intercom in the Camera List.
  2. Click on the Audio tab.

  1. Select Record and Enable 2-Way Audio.
  2. Click Apply.

  1. Click  Hanwha Gear Icon.png and go to Analytics > IVA.
  2. Check Enable IVA.
  3. In the Virtual line tab, create a line (or lines) and set from which direction a crossed line will trigger or if it will trigger when crossed from both directions.

Enable Area Detection on the Hanwha Intercom
  1. Click  Hanwha Gear Icon.png and go to Analytics > IVA.
  2. Check Enable IVA.
  3. In the Virtual area tab, create an area (or areas) and set how the area will trigger: after a set time for Intrusion duration, if the area is entered, or if the area is exited (or a combination of the above).

  1. Click ApplyHanwha Apply button.png
Best Practices
  • You can delete a line or area by right-clicking it.
  • You can click on the line to add another point, and you can click the minus to remove a point.

  1. Click  Hanwha Gear Icon.png and go to Analytics > Audio Detection and check to Enable audio detection.
  2. Set the threshold for Level of detection.

Enable Analytics on the Recorder

To configure camera analytics:

  1. Connect to a recorder.
  2. Go to Setup Options Gear.png > Cameras under General Configuration and click on the specific camera from the Camera List.
  3. Click on the Analytics tab and check the boxes to enable Standard Motion, Smart Motion, Person Detected, Vehicle Detected, Line Crossing Detected, Loitering Detected, or Intrusion Detected, or General Analytics for the supported camera.

NOTE: OpenEye edge analytic cameras have analytics enabled by default when added to a recorder.

NOTE: Some Analytic Types may not appear based on your version of Apex Server Software.

NOTE: The number of supported channels of server-side analytics will vary depending on both hardware configuration and the analytics or other features enabled. It is recommended that you leverage the system metric tools in OWS Server Software Setup under General Configuration > Cameras > Analytics when setting up analytics on your system.

Create an Analytic Alert Rule

After enabling analytics on both the intercom and recorder devices, create an analytic rule in OpenEye Web Services (OWS).

  1. Within the Alerts tab in the OWS Cloud Portal, select Alert Rules from the dropdown menu.

  1. Click Add New Rule.

  1. Select an Alert Type from the pop-up menu.

  1. Click Next.

  1. Name the alert and give it a Description as desired.

Analytic Alert Rule Definition
  1. In Alerts > Alert Rules, click on the newly created Analytic Alert Rule. 
  2. In Rule Definition, choose either Audio or Video for Event Group.
  3. Select the Event Type from the dropdown.

  1. Click Save.

Enabling Sensors and Relays for the Hanwha Intercom

To generate events, make sure that the recorder sensors and relays are enabled for the Hanwha Intercom:

  1. Click Setup Options Gear.png > General Configuration > Sensor / Relay. 
  2. Check on the TID-600R in the Sensors and Relays tabs.

NOTE: Both Sensors and Relays for the TID-600R (1/2 and 2/2) need to be checked.
